Report: Insurers deny one in every 10 claims for medical testing or screening

A new report from the Doctor-Patient Rights Project found that health insurers are using inconsistent and vague standards to deny coverage for both preventive and emergency medical care. Chief among the findings is that insurers deny one in every 10 claims for medical testing or screenings, which affect as many as 7.7 million insured Americans. It also found that the report was based on all types of insurance.
